Initiation 201 – Advanced Matwork and Standing Pilates is a weekend workshop to certify professionals in The Method Pilates® Matwork.

Pre-requisites:

• Initiation 101 or Classic Mat teaching experience
• Anatomy of Pilates text
• BodyMind Matwork video
• Standing Pilates® book

Course

Subject to passing a written exam, this course certifies instructors in the complete Matwork, including all of the advanced exercises. Students examine each exercise and its relationship to the Fundamentals. Exercise progressions are taught, as well as analysis of muscle recruitment and how imbalances may interrupt this process. You will also learn 21 Standing Pilates exercises and ten advanced Fundamental movements. We will focus on the anatomy and use of the pelvic floor muscles and how they relate to Pilates work.
